d-TRAIN tractor package with ACCORD Semi-trailer, this iteration a quantum leap forward combining more Cube, GAWR, maneuverability, roll stability, while saving fuel, a first including an e-Pusher air-ride axle

By eliminating “GAP” from BOC (back of cab) and trailer bulkhead will save 5% fuel this according to generic research. This rig will not allow a full-on jackknife and the tractor is mechanically restricted to 52 degrees of rotation which is sufficient to meet most or all maneuvering requirements. The ACCORD Semi-trailer may also be equipped with an additional air ride axle to lift/lower the trailer for ease of coupling which is a first.

Operating the ACCORD semi is similar to an auto carrier hauler.  The patented NZR 5th wheel compound hitch system is required to operate an ACCORD Semi (Tractor remains universal) and which moves the physical articulation of the tractor  21′ (6.4)m to the rear of the kingpin (30/36/60″ KP). Maneuverability is now improved by approx. 50%. These rigidly connected trailers may have greater GAWR, will increased cube, they may even deter theft.

Potential exists, with appropriate BBC tractors, (See CO EU) for a 63′ (19)m  and 73′(22)m semi-trailers to speed payback on ROI/ROA/ROC. In addition, existing Semi-trailers and tractors may be converted to the new ACCORD technology. The tractor remain universal with only minor changes to the 5th wheel slider and chassis after-frame.  Semi-trailers require a refit to the new configuration with either turntable or 5th wheel stinger design. ROI is estimated to be around 12 months for 63′ and  three years for 48′ to 53′ conversions.

40 Ton Drop Deck concept

Applying d-TRAIN technology to the tractor 5th wheel will cause this ACCORD-Stinger 40 ton capacity drop-deck to maneuver 30% better without steering axles. The goose-neck may be extended for increased payload, adding the pusher axle mimics the advantages of a jeep. The deck is demountable using the NZR 5th wheel/turntable combination and the air suspension drops the deck to the ground. A full jackknife is eliminated with ACCORD-Stingers since the rig is mechanically restricted to 52 degrees which is sufficient to meet maneuvers off-road and an oscillating 5th wheel is optional. The pusher air-ride axle will regain hook-up without need of the usual pins and latches. All ACCORD-Stingers and the goose-neck arrangements are removable.
