The “Roycebuilt” rear engine chassis concept makes all manner of configurations possible that otherwise would not work. For example; The Shell Rotella (Future Today) tractor/trailer if modified (Look Closely) to tridem with the Accord c/w pusher axle and or in conjunction with a “Roycebuilt” tractor chassis, in lieu of a standard 63′ semi-trailer with pusher (e-powered axle) could be extended from 53, 63 to 73′ for 20-30% increase in cubic capacity and 50% maneuverability. The 6×2 or 6×4 configuration becomes 6×4 and 6×6 with only six inch “GAP” (BOC to bulkhead)

Based on wind tunnel aerodynamic research, that performed by TC Transport Canada wind tunnel Oshawa, Ont. a reduction in “GAP” of 4′ (feet) saves 1688 Ltrs (422 gallons) diesel fuel per/tractor/year.

NZR ACCORD Semi-trailer with e-Pusher Axle

Hyundai HDC-6 Concept vehicle for class Vll heavy duty market might better consider coupling to the ACCORD Semi-trailer for 20% more cube, 50% better maneuvering and shorter forward length. A full jackknife is not possible with ACCORD configuration due to the unique patented d-Train 5th wheel compound hitch. For the first time trucking companies may use this universal coupling technology and benefit from a forward mounted e-drive axle offering additional GAWR, lifting and lowing without dolly jacks.
